I didn't know there was a new Dr Finley and the original one I'm sure wasn't Carrickfergus. But possibly, as there's always been a debate as to who wrote Carickfergus, and was the tune written long before the song ets it's possible the original tune may have been Scottish, now I'll have to wath Dr Finley!
