Ahh...

Richard Bridge wonders why I referred to Triumph bikes and not cars.. The potted history you wrote doesn't help as it misses out the reason why I don't refer to Triumph as car manufacturers.

The Triumph Acclaim.

I failed then passed my test in one of those buggers.

In fact come to think about it, you missed out the Triumph 2500TC and PI. I had a 2500TC (twin carb) that looked nice, went nice but pulled like hell to the left. I used to call it Michael, after Michael Foot. My love affair with Triumph went downhill after that and apart from a Marina Estate (getting the gear in for gigs, the cheapest estate I could find at the time,) I never went BL again.

Mind you, I drive a Jaguar these days and there might be some DNA in there? I shudder to think about it.

I would have thought you might have mentioned the TR7 for that matter. Might have been a useless BL shed, but a desirable one at that.

No matter, Moses was riding a Triumph Bonneville, the earlier 650cc version, (discontinued in, I think 1962, but I could be wrong and can't be arsed to google it.)
