Maggie, I must confess that my knowledge of Scottish music is rather limited and of very recent origin. And that is based on old American TV Public Broadcasting showings ofthe Scottish Fiddle Orchestra, and catching the Tannahill Weavers at Milwaukee's Irish Festival. Hardly the way to learn the music of another society. I had learned something of the history of Loch Lomond, only because it has been one of my favorite songs for years.
