An upward chain means that although you have put a deposit on a place and have sold yours, the people in the new place still have to find somewhere...and maybe the people next up do....etc. The other sort is when someone wants your place but still have to sell theirs. So quite often things stagnate for a while, especially when the chain isn't moving in either direction. My potential buyers don't have a house to sell. A second home is basically a weekend retreat or a holiday home. People sometimes buy a property in a place they like to go so that they have somewhere to stay.

The main drawback I can see with the property in Belford is that to the left of it is a fish and chip shop (you can see it on street-view), and the office for a caravan park which means that it could get quite busy during the holiday season. Also , unlike the 2 in Norham, it isn't empty.

By the way, if by chance anyone looks at street view - head to the right.
