Subject: RE: Discmakers Bah Humbug
Reggie, I agree that CDBaby's service has deteriorated somewhat. They used to update their files almost immediately, and now go days (certainly weekends) before they reflect any changes. They are also in my experience less responsive to questions. E.G. one of my CDs is labeled CD-R while the other 2 are not. All three were manufactured by Discmakers using the same process, and I feel that the CD-R label may discourage potential sales.

Mixonic is still in business, by the way. I just did a price comparison of Mixonic with Discmakers (and CDBaby, which is the identical template and price as Discmakers) and found Mixonic to be slightly less expensive for short run duplication. I actually was happy with Mixonic's results, and found their rendering of the graphics to be superior to Discmakers, based on my last order from Discmakers. But I do have to say that Discmakers went out of their way to provide customer support with issues I raised.

What they all NOW tell the customer is that duplication means CD-R while replication means production using a glass master, presumably better since it's more expensive and only for larger orders.
