Hi liz

Like several here I too have had problems with printers. We have used HP,Epson, Lexmark etc.

A couple of years ago my wife wanted a "cheap & nasty" all-in-one printer so we bought a Brother.

We have been more than pleased with it's performance. We have printed most things both in black&white and colour. The results are great. We haven't tried to print at photo quality because we find it more convenient, cheaper and better to take a disc to our local Jessops shop.

What's more we have used both compatible cartridges witout problems and had those re-filled at an ink shop that does this. The rfe-filling is actually slightly more expensive that buying the compatible cartridges !! So that is what we do. In fact I am just on the point of ordering some more. For the model we use it costs us £11.99 for the four cartridges ( 3 Colour and 1 black).

We would have no hesitation in replacing this one with another Brother.

As well as being completely reliable it is easy to use and has a very good user manual that is simple to understand.

I have to say that we haven't used the Fax facility but I have no concerns about whether it will work OK.

Regards
