Thread Name: BS: Declutter & Accountability Sept 2010
Subject: RE: BS: Declutter & Accountability Sept 2010
After a great night's sleep (what's up with that stomach cancer dream?!?!?), the spaces I have cleaned look different (better) and the spaces yet to clean look feasible, too.

I also came up with a great idea for the montage and staging of Room #1-- I have a non-working flatpanel PC monitor I can stage up there as an HD TV! (Lightweight/compact to carry up there!)

An occupant will brig their own or use ours in the LR, but people like to see where a TV could go, and I have two perfect spots near outlets.

The west wall in that montage is all one shot, seen too quickly, holding way too many things to see all at once-- it looks like clutter. So I'll stage the TV there, and photo-sweep that wall in 3-4 shots-- making the items and their purposes clearer.

A plan is emerging for a year-round use of that space. (Yes I know a marketing plan should come first and then one arranges everything to the plan-- I'm such a visually-oriented thinker that I had to clean it and see it all (and get some applicant feedback) to think year-round.)

So I am transferring some of the planning to a hunters' use as I had first thought I would. Hunters come in short, intense periods of time and then LEAVE (Hardi will like that). For a week at a time of a hunters' stay I can do it like a B&B and wash their nasty hunting clothes for them, etc.

I do a great breakfast, and for their week here they can even have the whole downstairs to themselves (LR/DR/bathroom), because we will retreat to our already well-equipped private suite on the second floor.

They'll sleep up in the MudDorm but have the whole downstairs for beer and TV. The Dorm can sleep 5 so depending what is booked that's how I'll set it up for each week booked.

Now that I have spaces set up, and a start of good photos to email folks from Philly to show all the rustic *chahm,* I can grab the calendar and talk to a few other hunter-hosts to see how they make it work and when to advertise.

And if I get an Oct-June occupant first, then I'll just run the hunter deal next fall and then a spring semester deal with a student-- less of an issue/cost with heating it.
