Just to see if we can set things straight: Colin de la Barre is Rose Sheehan's son, from Gloucester, Massachusetts -- he helped set up the sound system (never heard such lovely sound checks!) and sang incredibly beautiful harmonies with his Mom. Hope they come back again!

Glyn -- Collingon? Collinson? (obviously I don't have it quite straight...) is the energetic and highly talented young Englishman who played with Jed. He's been spotted at open sings and other events around the Washington area, so I suspect we may see him again -- hooray!

Amos, thanks for giving Lois credit for the Wiscasset Schooners song, Amos. I'll pass along your compliments to her. She's written several other wonderful songs as well, including two others Gordon has recorded, and a couple my son Dan has recorded. She is my oldest and dearest friend, and I'm hoping to bring her to next year's Getaway. She came once a long time ago, when we were at Camp Letts, and had a good time, so one of these days...

Jeez, what else? The weekend was fabulous, as always, and it's such a treat to see so many dear friends. There are a lot of folks I see only once a year, but count among my best friends. Spent Sunday evening talking with Dick and Marlene Levine -- what lovely people they are! I didn't do much late-night singing this year, partly because of my croaky voice and partly because I was having a fine time just hangin' out!

What a treat to have Sally Rogers there at last! We'd been trying to get her to come for a while, and this year it actually worked! She has more energy than anyone has a right to, and it really comes through in her performance. It was great to get to know Jerry R. a bit better, too. And did you get a chance to hear Molly Andrews? What a lovely singer she is -- and the duet she did with her daughter Molly Rose in her mini-concert was absolutely beautiful. I'm so glad Caroline Paton was able to come this year -- it's been a while, and we've sure missed her.

One regret was that Mark Ryer got sick (suspect food poisoning from something he ate on the drive down) and was unable to participate. I'd met him only the week before in Portsmouth NH, and I know you all would have enjoyed him. We'll try again next year!

Several people mentioned that both of the concerts were exceptionally good this year, and I agree -- not a dog among the 45 or 50 performances. Sunday night there were several pieces that brought tears to my eyes -- notably Mick's song about his brother -- and the mood was pretty somber until Edmund, Charmion, and Terry lightened it up with a fine rendition of "Froggy Went a-Courtin'."

Let's see -- lots of other great memories, but they're still all jumbled up in what's left of my brain.

I do want to say one thing more: thanks to all of you for coming. Lots of people have thanked us for organizing the whole shebang, and we appreciate that, but you know, it wouldn't be worth doing if it wasn't for all the terrific people who come together to share their music and themselves. See you all next year, I hope!
