Rose and Colin are also among those who have amended Rani Arbo's lyric phrasing to make it flow more normally than the way Rani initially sang it. Tennyson's poem does not have the same rhythmic pattern to verses 2 and 4 as to verses 1 and 3, if you read it as you'd naturally speak it, but Rani Arbo originally sang it as though it did, and to me it sounded odd (accents on many of the wrong syl-LAB-bles in verses 2 and 4).

Betsy Wellings, of Chehalis, WA (now La Center, I think) did a great job of making the prasing sound more natural, and I did my own revision of the phrasing when I sang the song (even altering the tune a bit on verses 2 and 4). But Rose and Colin put their own individual stamp on the lyric phrasing, as well as adding their own unique harmonies, and the result was sheer beauty and stirring emotion.
