The goal I set earlier in the week got some attention today: two big boxes of miscellaniana (1 from the big September kitchen cleanup) have now been gone through. The 60% that was trash/expired info is all bagged and ready to go-- leaving the harder clean/put away part of the job for the coming week.

The bushels of "expired" canned goods just left the building; it's all edible, but cannot be donated to the food pantry. It can be boiled up for a huge parish soup supper; we've sampled all the varieties and they are quite edible.

Now my kitchen has ELBOW room, for elbow grease to go to WORK for a serious deep-cleaning of begrimed areas.

The washing machine Pat and Brian asked us to get rid of has two days left on its ad before I FreeCycle it-- but it's out of the van and on the porch now, to be shown and removed. Also the landlord shored up a sagging roof beam that had been let go; we'd propped it with 2x4's that were never meant to really FIX it. We were nervous that a visitor would knock into it and let the roof collapse-- but now it's safe for lookers to be ON that porch to see and remove the washer. I get back my 2x4's for the next long-awaited project, just in time for Adrian's next visit.
