I remove the compost from a box in the fall because it's ready to use and I need the empty box for fall leaves, etc., which will form a base for the 2011 compostable materials. I spread as much of the compost as I could in my flower beds

I took a tumble down a river bank this afternoon (who would have guessed that mud could be so slippery?) Fortunately the channel was dry. I rolled, hitting the back of my head on a rock, twisting my leg and banging my hands, before coming to rest, face down, on smooth river rocks and driftwood. I'm sore but appear to have avoided serious damage. I didn't feel up to hauling compost today after that, though.

We're leaving in the morning on our last 1000 mile (1600 Km) round trip weekend drive for the year. If the snow will only hold off until we get home, it would be wonderful.
