First off, and AGAIN, diet may not help lower cholesterol. The only way to know is to try.

You don't need to eat cholesterol. Your liver makes it. You DO need to eat fat, but not the bad kinds. Fortunately, I LIKE olive oil.
Of course, if you're like me, you have to cheat once in a while.
