Since I had confirmation that a check I had to send through the county child support office won't be cashed (we both wanted to get these stupid folks at the county off our backs, so I sent a check that they sent to my ex, but he's letting me keep the cash because I used it for gas to take our son to Arizona to school) I was able to go grocery shopping. I hit the produce section pretty hard, and among the veggies and fruits, I picked up a lovely organic acorn squash. I baked it tonight, same as earlier in the week - I don't know exactly what the explanation might be, but these baked squash are like a fast track to my childhood. Mom used to fix a lot of squash when we were kids, and I guess you could say that I'm from a winter squash climate. I didn't have much to do with the bent neck type until I lived here in Texas. (Zucchini is another story - they grow huge in the Pacific Northwest). I can happily scoop the baked squash out of the skin like ice cream out of a pint tub. :)

More activity on eBay. I'll list the compact tomorrow morning. I'm going to take one more shot at a couple of good photos with the best lighting, so I'll take a fabric backing outside in daylight.
