Bill Garrett and Sue Lothrop

Last evening Bill Garrett showed up without his partner, lover, wife, friend, sweetheart and long time companion for their scheduled performance. It had to have been a while that he had performed solo because he said that he was nervous and missed Sue besides him. Sue came down with the musician's nightmare. A cold. That almighty curse whereby you are just too down and out including your voice to sing. Have no fear Sue, you and Bill already have a date to come back.

When I ask the question to myself, what is folk I look at what I have experienced during the 60/70ties. My age period. I look at Dylan, David Essig, Jessie Winchester, Bruce Murdoch, Allan Fraser and the list just goes on.

But somewhere on that list is Bill Garrett. When he began to sing and pick last evening I was taken back to a time that in my opinion was what I consider folk music. This thread is not to start any disagreement on the almighty question of FOLK, so please comment only on the accomplishments of this wonderful contributor to music. Please check out all his accomplishments to date and I am sure there are many more to come.
