I volunteer at the local food bank. We have those really huge blu-ish grayish Hubbard Squash to give away but hard to find takers-they look a bit gnarly, it's true, but they are most delicious when cut in half, scooped out and baked in the oven for a while-good thing for a northwest thanksgiving table along with a big salmon and other local yummies.
