the computer and the cell phone automatically set them selves...i wonder when they do that ? 2 a.m.? but the others, wrist watch, wall clock and vehicle ones need to be set by hand. (or perhaps i should just take the batteries out for an hour, or disconnect the car battery and re-connect it right at noon (or midnight)

there is no longer a time (or temperature) phone number to call to get a recorded message, as so many people use cell phones or computer to tell time. these numbers have become obsolete, just as phone booths.
have you tried to find a phone booth lately?

they say that the forest service can justify taking look out towers out of service because of the prevalence of cell phones...they presume that any fire spotted will be reported by phone...they forgot to figure in that the remote areas where fires can become a problem are far from cell service.....
