I have not seen into your eyes, nor felt
The touch of skin, nor heard your voice, to know
You hold my heart. I care, but dare dreams melt
Before you? And how would you have me show
Devotion from distance? Caring, I have tears
From reading: How would I feel, to realize
I cannot hold you, or share of those fears?
How could I see through what would fill my eyes?
Yet I would hold you as my friend, and pray
My feelings would reflect your own. I'd kiss
Your forehead and your palm, and hope to say
I do not wish to your written words miss.
It is desire I dare not dream as true:
How can I hope to know if I love you?
