Jackie was my guitar hero since I first saw him circa 1960 at the Black Swan in Hamilton. I once drove from Hamilton to Port Hope and back the next day with Jackie riding shotgun; a conversation I'll always treasure.
A few years later my brother met him at a party in Hamilton and I was amazed to learn that, not only did he remember me, he remembered my birthday as well.
The last time I saw Jackie was at his 88th birthday celebration. That was also the last time I saw Willie P. Bennett. I'll miss them both.
