I get phone calls purporting to be from my bank, or offering me financial advice.
They all get the same answer, even my bank, when it is actually them
'I never discuss financial matters on the phone, good-bye.'

My wife's one is to ask them to put the offer in writing. They usually hang up pretty quickly even if they are who they say they are.
