Ron, old buddy...

I've been on the soap box for the "fear Palin, she's no joke" position since the beginning. We seem to be on the same page lately.

I saw her show tonight. She and her family were out working salmon boats and processing the fish with her tribal relatives.

For anybody who thinks sneering a Palin is a good idea...

I got to tell you. This woman is the real deal and I'm not going to post here anymore. I'd just be a drag on this community discussion. You folks seem happy with your viewpoint. I'll quit bothering you and let Ron try to wake you up.

I love folk music; enjoy maritime folk; and like most Mudcatters, I admire folks who actually work boats. I like and admire Native American cultures. Watching Sarah Palin clean up boats, fillet and smoke fish, push her daughters into a hard-work-and-earn-your-keep consciousness, has left me impressed.

I may not be a big fan of her politics or her skill set, but I'm just not going to listen to any more careless jokes that just sound to me like a particularly overt kind of sexist elitism.

Working salmon boats for a couple of decades may not make me vote for you. But if you have done it, you have done enough to earn my respect.
