Today I found the first of two additions for the new computer, a 2TB hard drive on sale. I dropped it into the machine in about 20 minutes and now have the disk space I wanted for a couple of large projects: loading and editing the music from cassettes from my father's collection, then I'll burn them to CD or DVD. Also, I have a lot of old newspaper clippings of my grandfather's published articles in the hometown newspaper. I will scan with OCR software and save them, again, to burn to CD or DVD.
Kat, in the mid-1990s a friend and I went to the Zoo Ball, a posh event that I had a free tickets to because I served on the park board. This was one of those dress-to-the-teeth several thousands of dollars a table events, and I rode with my friend Janice in her old beater Chevy sedan. As we pulled into the lot we were aghast to realize traffic was channeled to the door where a valet was going to take this car and park it. We burst into gales of laughter, and when I opened the door a couple of pop cans clattered onto the ground. Good thing the guys parking cars thought it was funny also!
Beginning to look wintry here. Heavy overcast and much of the green is gone, except for the evergreens and protected places not hit by frost yet. This is when the xmas lights help boost my mood (and maybe that's why they can be such an important part of the season - the lift spirits!)
