Oh happy day! I just love the solstice. Now the days are getting longer. This alone got me out of bed a number of years ago when nothing else would. So today, I keep thinking of it and am starting to move again, as though I have been jump started!

Finding places in the kitchen and laundry room for all the wonderful food from the shed - brought all the way from the state of Washington to Montreal. Tons of staples and wonderful herb teas, dried beans, and ---how much cocoa do two people need!!!!???? Oh my! Anyway, I will only need perishables for the next month!

Also found mending stuff and iron on patches and....So this is a wonderful treasure hunt. Of course now I have no excuse not to get to that mending but I also feel as though I WANT to! Also found a couple embroidery projects that could be finished while watching TV - a rare occasion, or visiting.

I looked to get some yarn out of the large plastic garbage can in which it has resided for years but I had not put on my boots and the snow was deep over there. Next time. I plan to focus on small, easily completed projects - hats and scarves- and mostly crocheted if my wrist will cooperate. I quit in 1972 when picking up the hook sent pain up my arm. I can knit in the movies as long as I keep it simple.

Feels so good to feel good after the last while. I believe I really was just hanging on for the solstice to get started again. Have to watch out for that next year. That is not really very helpful.

Guess I will have to make choc cake and cookies and... Not hot choc because we have a wonderful organic mix with chili and other spices in it; so good!

Going to a friend's open house Christmas Day; can take choc something and maybe some baklava. Maybe there is such a thing as chocolate baklava?? NAH, doesn't seem right but maybe a drizzle on some of it. I make everything with less sugar or honey than called for; no complaints.
