We've made an arrangement with the Swiss, Amos. They need maple syrup. We need snow. Every month during the winter Canada ships tens of thousands of liters of maple syrup to switzerland and the Swiss send us fresh snow from the Alps. This has worked out very well for many years, and it keeps our Canadian winters as snowbound as they should be. This quick thaw, however, has resulted in a "snow gap" that is very troubling, and the Swiss shipments have not kept up with the demand. It's quite disturbing, specially for skiers.
