My gardening guy (Howard Garrett) has a few links to some of this, but there is a little lunatic fringe stuff going on with one of his partners. She doesn't cite sources of some of her more radical information.

I was going to look into Michael Pollan's books, Drs. Weil, Perricone, and Northrup, basically make a list of the PBS lectures and current folks I know of. I want to grow things I can eat, but I don't want to eat things that require complicated preparation or too specialized growing conditions. I want to be able to eat relatively familiar foods, though if there is a really good case for trying something new I'll think about it.

The gas lease royalty arrived today, but as the first one I have no idea what to make of it. If this represents a year, a month, a quarter. I guess I'll have to wait and see, and simply use this to pay bills. It's a windfall, so it might as well go to where it will do the most good.
