Thread Name: BS: I Hate the Beatles
Subject: RE: BS: I Hate the Beatles
Just got 'A Hard Day's Night' from the local library last week and watched it 3 times. The thing that struck me was that it was flimed, cut and released in 3 weeks. I was able to run back the dvd to pick up some of the phrases I couldn't understand because of the accents. Once I did I realized it was a VERY funny movie. George Harrison came off as the best actor of the 4 though alot of the script focused on Ringo's manufactered alienation.

In reference to their music one can say they're not to one's taste. But to deny their greatness is simply being stupid. Because of the combination of circumstances what they represented HAD to happen. They changed pop culture, completely. When I think of some of their songs,'Yesterday', Nowhere Man', 'If I needed Someone', 'Here Comes The Sun', I'm Looking Through You', 'In My Life', etc. Any songwriter would be glad to have one or two songs of the aforementioned quality. They ended up with a couple hundred.

Hate them or dismiss them if you want. I'm sure George and John's estates, Paul and Ringo's financial advisors will worry about your opinion all the way to the bank. And history's book will certainly make mention of your post(s) in reference to the Beatles. They're sure to show up in the bibliography.
