Ed... eel spear? Don't you have a salmon spear? It would work just as well. Oh, you won't get so many eels maybe, but, to me, that's a good thing. I dislike the taste, unless I am HUNGRY.

When I was a lad, we never used a spear for eels. We just used a properly cut alder or large flat stones from the brook to slpash them out. It's all about knowing what to look for and walking very slowly... when that waving eel straightens out and pretends to be a stick on the bottom in shallow water... LUNCH!
