Thread Name: Graeme Miles Songs Of Ironopolis
Subject: Graeme Miles Songs Of Ironopolis
If a bit of self publicity is good enough for our old mate Ray Padgett, then here goes.
The Ironopolis Singers proudly announce the release of their double
cd " Songs Of Ironopolis". The song and prose cycle chronicles the development of industrial Middlesbrough and surrounding area, in the North East of England, through the words, music and songs of Graeme Miles. Twenty one songs from the pen of one of the UK's finest songwriters. The full narration performed by Graeme himself. Some of the songs are classics like Ring of Iron and Blue Sunset, but some you will not have heard before. Some are in the books "Songscapes" and "Forgotten Songs Remembered", some are directly from Graeme's own early recordings.
The Ironopolis Singers are very proud to have been involved with this project, which is actually the first time Graeme has appeared on a officially sanctioned recording.
The price is £12.00 plus any UK or overseas postage and packaging.
We don't have an internettywebbythingy site just yet, but if you PM me I'll let you know how to get hold a copy.
Very few copies of Songscapes are available, but Forgotten Songs Remembered is very much available, again through me.
Thanks to all who have supported us over the last two years, those who have booked us at their festivals and folk clubs, and all of you who have come to see the show.
The next show is under development so watch this space.
Cheers
Kevin Hall
