Thanks to all of you. I called Karen just now and woke her up. Good grief! She just laughed and said she'd had plenty of sleep and not to worry.
She is "guardedly optimistic." He turned around, today, and they plan to move him to the step down unit, tomorrow. He was the most coherent she's seen since this all started and he just realised, today, that he's been in hospital for 45 days.
I forgot to tell you all that Karen put a new doorknob on all by herself. He is very proud of her for that AND he made her leave early to go get her tire fixed. They are having more snow.
They've been alternating him on the vent and CPAP.
I told her I'd talk to her again in a couple of days.
