Thread Name: Lyr Req: The Dealer: Down and Losin' (Bob Ruzicka)
Subject: Lyr/Chords Add: THE DEALER: DOWN AND LOSIN'
This is what I´ve got:

The Dealer    Bob Ruzicka

Capo 3rd fret for Judy Collins' version

(C) (C/B) (Am) (C/G) (C) (C/B) (Am) (C/G)
(C) Jack of Diamonds, (C/B) Queen of Spades
(Am) Fingers (Am/G)tremble and the (F)memory fades,
And it's a (C)foolish man (G/D) who tries to bluff the (C)dealer. (G/D)
The (C)Joker has laughed, (Em7/B) Lady Luck smiled,
(Am) The Aces were (Am/G)high and the (F)Deuces were wild,
When you're (C)down and losin', (G) everyone's a (F)cheater.(C)

(F)Got a little more than you (G7)bargained for,
(C) A little more than you had in mind.
(F) They called your bluff and (G7) twenty-one
Beats (Am)(hold)nineteen every (G)time.

(C) Life's a lot (C/B)like that, my friend,
(Am) Luck runs (Am/G)out, the (F)winning streak ends.
(C) When the deck is stacked, (G/D) you can't bluff the (C)dealer. (G/D)
(C) Just when things were (Em7/B)going fine,
(Am) (Am/G)Someone jumped you (F)from behind,
And (C)when you're down and losin', (G) everyone's a (F)cheater.(C)

(F)You can't win and you (G7)can't break even,
(C) You can't get out of the game.
(F) You shouldn't stay, but (G7)you ain't leavin',
'Cause your (Am)(hold)luck could change a(G)gain.
- Instrumental verse -

(F)You can't win and you (G7)can't break even,
(C) You can't get out of the game.
(F) You shouldn't stay, but (G7) you ain't leavin',
'Cause your (Am)(hold)luck could change a(G)gain.

(C) Jack of Diamonds, (C/B) Queen of Spades
(Am) Fingers (Am/G)tremble and the (F)memory fades,
And it's a (C)foolish man (G/D) who tries to bluff the (C)dealer, (G/D)
And it's a (C)foolish man (G/D)(hold) who tries to bluff the (F)dealer. (F)(Fj7)(FM7add6)(C)

Playing hint: For the intro, no high E-string and on the 'turnaround point'
of the chords, add a D-note on B-string.

This is the way I play it, close to Judy Collins version.
FM7add7 is like F(ma)j7 but with a D-note added on B-string.
