"why does roasting coffee always smell better than it actually tastes?"

Ditto cigar smoke. Probably ditto pipe tobacco too, but I can't smell my Condor whilst I'm smoking it (nor that of the Condor smoker next to me, but, oddly enough, I can if he's smoking something other than Condor).

I don't smoke a tenth of what I used to now I'm banned at work and in the pub; these days it's a bit cold outside the pub, but I smoke there anyway, because a pint's good & a pipe of tobacco is good. But both together are glorious.
