My pharmacist daughter told me to use Goldeneye when I had a stye. There's also Brolene. Don't know what they'd call 'em over the pond. However she did also say that styes often get better in time by themselves.

Sorted the bookshelves a bit more today and unpacked the photo albums, while waiting for the man to come and fit a new electricity meter. I took a few very old children's books and a couple of special editions to Barter Books in Alnwick (where you can trade in books and get credit to buy others - it's massive, in an old railway station). I have £38 credit now!
