I have about a million billion things around here that are no good at all except as dust catchers. How about:
an ancient Serrano Chile ristra with dried tumbleweeds tied in, finished with a corn shuck bow.
an upside down shot glass filled with colored sand which makes a picture, and sealed with plaster, labeled "Painted Desert"
a whole string of tiny Guatamalan dolls, in a worry bead form.
a humongous Mexican tote all (bigger than a bushel) covered with neon colored straw flowers.
a Sears-Roebuck 5 string banjo that nobody can play.....
