Yes there was a lot of rivalery between The Topic and The Bradford Folk Club. I have to say that there was a lot of nastiness directed at The Topic by the late Paul Tattersal. It gave me a great deal of amusement when his folk club folded that he returned to The Topic, where he had the fatted calf killed for him.
I don't suppose you have a photograph of The Fox and Goose from The Bradford Folk Club's time there? If you have e-mail it to Nick Waller it will be another picture of one of The Topic 's past venues for the site
