Thread Name: Princeton BC 4th Trad Music Festival 2011
Subject: Princeton BC 4th Trad Music Festival
The 4th Annual Princeton Traditional Music Festival takes place this year 19-21 August 2011, at Princeton, BC Canada, some 300 km E of Vancouver. The Festival is free and is entirely staffed by volunteers (unless we can get a govt-paid student to help with the paperwork).

Princeton is a small ex-mining town in the interior plateau in the rain shadow of the Coast Range and so summers are dry and hot. It sits at the confluence of the Similkameen and Tulameen Rivers and there are plenty of bathing spots. There are also plenty of restaurants and motels in town, and camping possibilities just outside. There's a once-a-day bus from Vancouver and back, and our closest airport is Penticton, 80 minutes away.

Friday's festivities start with a street dance and a live band, and this is followed by two days of concerts, panels, workshops and jams. We feature about a hundred traditional musicians from a variety of cultures. Click here for the application form for performers and for other links, past programs and photos.
