In the Philadelphia area when I was a kid there was a show called the Gene London show. For part of it Gene would tell a story while drawing it on a big pad of paper. He'd introduce the segment by singing:

Let's pretend that it's story time and I'll tell a tale to you,
I'll tell you a tale of make believe, and all your dreams will come true.
And when the story's over, and when we've reached the end,
We'll live happily ever after -- where?
In the land of "Let's Pretend."
