Well I do intend to make my own marmalade one day, but in the meantime, my quest for the perfect marmalade has come up trumps. This one is every bit as good as the lovely one we used to get at Kellys of Cults in Aberdeen - maybe even better.

We found it in a rather unexpected place - Pynes Butchery at North Petherton has a range of jams and chutneys and other goodies from Homefarm Foods Banbury. This is already our favourite butcher, and now we have yet another reason to go there. When I opened the jar of their seville orange marmalade today and sniffed it, I knew I had a winner. The taste confirmed it! That's a relief. My cupboard was starting to get cluttered up with marmalades that had failed the test, although they will probably get used up somehow at some point.

So what did I have for breakfast? Tea (without any grumbles), toast and lovely marmalade. Yay!
