Except that humans, like chimps, bonobos, and pigs have pointed "canine" teeth. Also, like the pig, the human digestive tract has evolved to handle meat, fruit and vegetation -- instead of only vegetation like the ruminants, horses, deer, and so forth. Nature made humans (and pigs) omnivores.

'Tis thought by many (most?) who think on these things that humans were scavengers, eating what was available: berries, roots, dead animals, fruits, etc. This is called "evolutionary adaptation" because it increases the ability of an organism to survive since it is not dependent upon, say, grasses that die off in a prolonged cold spell.

That is not to say that humans shouldn't cut down on their carnivorous diet. But we're built to eat 'most anything that comes our way, and in the past (and the present and perhaps again in the future) we have.
