Couple of points:

My use of the term "homophobe," which is someone with an irrational fear of homosexuals, was just to point out one of the many hypocritical areas of obsession of those obsessed with my genitals.

AIDS is spread in many ways. One, of course, and the way we most heard about it in the earlier years of our knowledge of the disease is through news about unprotected sex between homosexual men. However, while this is more or less how it began, it is not the only way it is transmitted. And as near as I can tell, it is not the primary way it is transmitted today.

AIDS is transmitted by sharing contaminated needles among users of street drugs. AIDS is transmitted from men to women during unprotected sex. AIDS does not know and does not care if the sex was consensual or if "she" knew he had AIDS.

Demonizing homosexuals does nothing to further the discussion or an honest and earnest attempt to end AIDS. But this argument is just part of the irrational obsession with "my bits."

When advocation of condoms is promoted, it is those self-same hypocrites who will oppose these efforts. They would suggest that since condom use does not offer 100% protection they should be DIScouraged. Also to be discouraged is ANY program of genuine, truthful, open program of sex education that would encourage our young to be sexually literate, aware, and healthy.

If you logically boil down the "obsession" arguments, they suggest that we all accept "their" notion that sex is "only for a married heterosexual couple for the purposes of procreation."

Akenton, I feel sad for you. Carrying your anger at homosexuals is a huge burden. I don't know how you can manage that weight. I find that on a good day, I cannot even manage some of my own burdens. But know that your hostility not only hurts you. It hurts millions of people who are the victims of public policies and persecution who have really done nothing to hurt society. (Now don't go off with red herrings about sexual assaults of various types or beastiality, which are not what I am talking about.)

And BTW, not that it should matter. But I am PROUDLY "straight, but not narrow."
