Thanks, Rozza!

I like it when we can get the authentic words from the sheet music. Transcribing from old recordings is less reliable and often ends up with mistakes or gaps where the words were unintelligible. Also, the sheet music often has extra verses that were never recorded.

I can't find an on-line recording of this song, though, so I don't know what it sounds like.

Rozza, do you have the ability to transcribe the tune into abc notation? (That's a skill I've never learned myself, since I have plenty of work to do, just finding lyrics.) That would be a bonus, since there are people here at Mudcat who can convert abc to a MIDI file and upload it so anyone can download it.

I've added George Beauchamp to my list of music-hall performers. One of these days I might get around to looking up more songs that he performed.
