Moonglow came down for lunch today and we did a little shopping. I introduced her to some of the helpful attitudes that her MOM has learned over the years, like, it is okay to pick up the big roll of vinyl in the upholstery section and carry it to the cutting board. And if you see something you need that it looks like they're going to throw out, ask for it. They have these really heavy-duty cardboard rolls from the same upholstery yardage, and she needed some for a project. "Are these for the taking?" I asked. "Yes, as many as you would like!" was the response. Much easier than waiting for someone to carry the roll, or assuming they might say no. If you don't ask, you won't know.

She's 22, and she's a fast learner. Who knows what she'll do next time we're in the fabric store.

She graduates in August from UNT, Eiseley's alma mater.
