I forgot to mention - I put another Rubbermaid container and a big pile besides of the trimmed shrubs at the curb for trash pickup this morning. That's two batches in one week! I was out there when the truck came by to help if they needed it. I handed over a small stack of brush, then picked up the loose bits that would play havoc with the mower. This is great, to not just trim, but also get rid of the piles that sometimes sit in the back for ages before I haul them back out front. Doing it this way, they don't need to go into the back yard at all.
