I bit the bullet in the sun room and cleared up a lot of stuff that had sought the lowest level (floor) that could in fact be tossed, repositioned, or moved to the appropriate area (shipping boxes on top of the hutch, packing materials into the big trash bag under the table, and three boxes of papers that need sorting and tossing or filing are now outside my office. I seem to have several of these accumulations lately.) It doesn't look less cluttered, but there is a larger path down the middle of the room.

This afternoon I spent with a co-worker doing our assigned section of inventory on a long section of books in the library. We'll finish it tomorrow. Tedious work, reading out each call number to make sure it appears on the computerized list, and if it isn't on the shelf, mark it as "not found." If there are books on the shelf that aren't on the computer list, we turn them down to be noticed and processed by the folks who are running the inventory. And along the way, we are doing a lot of re-shelving of sections before we inventory them. It has been a while since we did a full-fledged "shelf-reading," when we go through and make sure they're simply in the right order by call number. I'll take more Sudafed tomorrow to finish the task. I felt like I had to sneeze for about half of the time we were doing this. :-/ (Our library has somewhat more than 1.2 million books, so it is taking a while and we all take turns doing this.) After all of this, I should go through my own books and organize them a little better.

I have to finish a couple of things this evening, so I'd better get to them.
