Red Storey, what an ambassador of sport! If he didn't play it professionally, he officiated it! Sometimes both! One of the best guys you'll ever be entertained by at a sports banquet.

Similar story as the one above involving Don Cherry and I'm pretty sure the Referee was Bruce Hood.
Don was standing on the bench with one foot up on the boards(we in the refereeing world still call that stance "a Don Cherry")screaming at the referee with this grass green velvet suit on. The ref skated over, looked up, pointed at Don and quietly said "Don, that's the nicest suit I've ever seen!" Skated about 15 feet away towards center ice, turned around, pointed at Don and yelled "And don't you ever forget it!". The whole rink thought he gave Don a good blast when it was nothing more than a complement(backhanded maybe?).
