All that history that we used to carry round in our pockets disappeared with decimalisation - wren farthings, ship ha'pennies, more than a hundred years of pennies fron Victoria to Elizabeth II, silver threepennies, sixpences in the Christmas pudding, florins (same value as ten-pence pieces, but now all gone back to the mint to retrieve their small silver content), half-crowns, crowns, ten-bob notes.

How about some giant coins for Blackpool promenade? If you gave them the right "kink" they could be wind turbines - and pay for the Illuminations!
