Thanks, SRS!
My experience is sweet peas take lots and lots of sunshine.
In Wyoming, our LR window was huge and faced west with no sun blockage of trees or anything. It got sweltering and would have burned my houseplants, but I went to the home builder supply store and bought a film which you put right on the window using water and a squeegee. It's dead easy to use and REALLY cuts down on the heat and UV rays of the sun. click here to get an idea of what I am talking about. You can buy set sizes, but I found it cheaper and easier to buy it in rolls which I then cut to fit.
As to other plants, I'd take a nice long *stroll* through Logee's to see what they may recommend. They are in New England, so more likely to be closer, conditions-wise, to where you are than to someone like me and they really know their plants PLUS they sell Guy Wolff's pots!
I have done absolutely nothing, but Rog and I have talked a lot. That Wabi-Sabi article was great, SRS. I have a lot of the elements and have been practising it for many years except for the clutter part. That's next as I clear out and get ready to live life differently!
