What we are witnessing here is the complete failure of the capitalistic system. It's affecting everyone, in all countries, some more than others.

The basic system of money lending assumes that there will be winners and losers. It's been that way forever. The banks, in many countries, were successful in changing the rules suffiently to "get mine ... before anyone else got theirs." Pretty simple really ... it's as old as greed itself.
