Well, the dust has settled now, and I've had time for reflection. I've also been considering our esteemed Moderator Joe Offer's timely suggestion -

I have decided on balance to take Joe's advice and reinstate my MoorleyMan handle, while keeping the own-name membership open in parallel (for the time being, at least).
This action can do no harm now that there is no secret about my ID. I'm not ashamed of it, nor do I have anything to hide.
