Actually that is not a bad idea Lizzie, roses, jasmine and essences a la creosotte and just a hint of toasted oak. Bottle it and make a fortune, I am being silly now lol, it's all this sunshine going to our heads.

Tar is a lovely smell too and I used to love the smell of coal tar soap and even petrol coming from the pumps, my dad used to fill up before we headed off on a trip to the seaside and the smell as it glugged into the car meant that we were set for a long trip. The smell of cut grass and hay is another favourite and of course the smell of the seaside. Some people hate the smell of manure but to me it shows that you are well and truly in the countryside.

I suppose the only thing that gets up my nose are the odd few who cannot hold their drink and make what should be a nice evening a nightmare for everyone else but thankfully only a minority.
