Thread Name: Lyr Req: Mining Union song from North-East
Subject: Lyr Req: Mining Union song from North-East
At the Bristol Folk Festival I recently heard a fellow sing a Coal Miners song, written sometime in the 1960s. The chorus went something along the lines of

"There will be no more Redundancies
Work for all in seams beneath the sea
For the AGM and all it's men, hip hip horay"

Not to sure about that last line, but it definately mentioned "no more redundancy" and "seams beneath the sea." The fellow who sang it said it was extremely popular at Newcastle folk sessions, which many former colliers attended. I have been frustrated by failing to find it via google. Anyone familiar with it?
