In answer to your question Joe............Yeah, I think you were the first! I have also met with others in Columbus who are passing through and going elsewhere. I always ask if that is preferable because coming to Bremen is a trip off the beaten path. The first 'Catter I actually met was Cara who no longer posts. At the time she was working in DC but had come home to Newark to see her family at Easter and I ran up with my two young sons and had lunch there.
In Columbus we met several 'Catters including Dave Swan who was back here getting a new Squad and I wish he had been around a lot longer to say the very least. And that was definitely true with Bill and Rita as well. We had a great time over a supper at Logan's and the conversation never gets better than with them.....and most other 'Catters I have met. WYSIWYG was going to meet us once too but couldn't find the freeway exit which means she'd still be lost in southeast Ohio if she'd tried to find Bremen.......LOL.
Speaking of which, Bert and Tree stopped a couple of times at the house and seemingly had no trouble. Had fine times with them of course. On the other hand, Mario came to see us on his way to Texas and got lost in Zanesville about 40 miles from here. In his defense, it can be confusing as hell and also is home to the the famous "Y-Bridge." There is a stoplight midway across the river at the "Y" and one way will take you across the river while the other lands you a few blocks up from where you entered on the same side. Don't ask. After losing a ridiculous amount of time in Zanesville Mario was not around as long as either of us had wished.
When Bill Sables along with Sam and Ian arranged to come by, I had to change their plans a bit when it turned out I had to be at the hospital for surgery the next morning at 5:30AM and would be spending the night at sister Connie's in Columbus. This worked out well as we took our camper up and they spent the night in it. That was a really fun night for everyone and Connie's family has heard so much about many 'Catters she and her family really had a fun time!
Big Mick I drove down to Cincy to meet, which brings up a final point. If any of you are passing through Ohio anytime, let me know and I'll try to either direct you here or meet you somewhere more convenient......DO YOU HEAR ME ALLISON?
